On this delicious autumn cake, juicy, sweet plums snuggle up on a fluffy yeast dough and are covered with crunchy butter crumble. With the help of your Thermomix you can make this popular classic in no time at all!

We'll show you how to make grandma's best plum cake with crumble is easy to make - for a piece of childhood on your cake plate. 

Ingredients for 1 tray 

Dough:

  • 350 g flour
  • 3/4 cube yeast
  • 120 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • salt

Topping:

  • 1.4 kg plums, halved


Crumble: 

  • 300 g flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 180 g butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 

And this is how it works

Put the yeast, sugar and milk into the mixing bowl
Start the food processor: Mix for 2 minutes / 37 degrees / speed 1 in the mixing bowl 
Add flour, egg, butter and salt
Start the food processor: Knead for 3 min. / dough kneading setting
Transfer the dough to a bowl, cover and leave to rise at room temperature for 1 hour
Place all the ingredients for the crumble in the mixing bowl

Start the food processor: Mix for 6 seconds / speed 5
Then blend again for 10 seconds/speed setting 4

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees top-bottom heat
Place the dough on a floured baking tray, roll out and raise an edge
Cover the dough with plums, sprinkle with crumble and bake for 30-35 min.

Dough sticks in the mixing bowl: tips and tricks 

With the kneading dough in the Thermomix dough often stubbornly sticks to the mixing bowl. With the dough remover these residues can be removed effortlessly.

However, if something still sticks, a simple trick will help: fill the mixing bowl with a handful of flour and mix the dough. Thermomix for a few seconds on level 10 for a few seconds. This reliably removes the remaining dough from the blender blade.
