Where does the Gugelhupf come from?
Perhaps you remember it from your grandmother's kitchen - the smell of freshly baked Gugelhupf. This delicious classic has its roots in the 18th century and probably originated in Austria. The name, derived from "Gugel" and "Hupf", tells of its special shape and the yeast that makes it so airy. Originally, the Gugelhupf was a festive cake that took center stage at special occasions such as weddings. Today, it is more than just a cake - it is a piece of tradition that you can taste with every bite.
