If you're a Subway enthusiast like us, then you should definitely try this recipe at home!
Not only because homemade always tastes best anyway.
As your own sandwich artist, you can put together your own favorite sub to your heart's content and add as many toppings as you like.
Ingredients for 4 baguettes:
- 300 grams of water
- 500 grams T550 flour
- 30 grams fresh yeast
- 60 grams olive oil
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon oregano, dried
- 1 tbsp parmesan, grated
Preparation:
1. first add the water, oil, yeast and salt to the mixing bowl and mix for a 2 min. / 37° / speed 1 heat up.
2. add the flour and 4 min / dough kneading setting until a smooth dough forms.
3. empty the mixing bowl over a floured work surface and knead everything well again by hand.
4. divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and shape into 30 cm long snakes by carefully pressing, rolling and pulling.
5. place the shaped pieces of dough in a baguette tin (non-stick). The baguette tin ensures that the dough pieces retain their round shape during the rising time and do not sweat during baking, so that the baguettes are also nice and crispy from below.
6 Brush all visible sides with the mixed egg yolk and milk liquid to give the baguettes their typical golden brown color during baking.
7. then sprinkle the baguettes with sesame seeds or oregano and parmesan to create the desired type of bread.
8. 30 - 60 min in a warm place until the volume has visibly increased.
9. 180 degrees top and bottom heat approx 25 min until the desired browning is achieved.
10 Now top with meat, sausage, cheese, fresh vegetables, sauces and spices as desired. There are no limits to your creativity!
