Ingredients for a large baking tray:
- 380 g butter
- 380 g fine baking sugar
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar or 2 teaspoons homemade vanilla sugar
- 3 eggs
- 600 g flour
- Some fat for greasing
- 11 medium-sized apples
- 80 g grated coconut
Preparation:
For the base:
Place 200 g butter, 200 g sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, flour and baking powder in the mixing bowl and mix. 1 min/speed setting 4 mix together.
Grease and lightly flour a large baking tray. Place the dough on it and roll out with a rolling pin.
For the crumble:
Heat the oven to 180 °C Preheat top/bottom heat.
Place the remaining ingredients in the mixing bowl and 30 seconds/speed setting 4 process into crumbles. Decant and knead lightly.
Peel, core and cut the apples into eighths. Spread lengthwise on the dough. Spread the crumble on top and bake in the preheated oven for approx. 40-50 min. bake. (in our oven, I reduced the time by half to 200 ° C half way through).
Tip:
If you like, you can sprinkle the apple pie with cinnamon sugar. You can also top the cake with other fruit, e.g. plums, cherries or apricots.
