With which Thermomix is best for goulash?

Our goulash recipe for the Thermomix

You will need the following ingredients for four hard-working eaters:

  • 500 grams of beef, preferably marbled
  • 3 large onions, halved
  • 2 tsp powder for stock
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 20 grams vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 L water
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 50 grams tomato paste

One step at a time: This is how it goes with the Thermomix to the goulash

  1. Chop the onions in the mixing bowl for 5 seconds on speed 5. Then push everything down with the spatula.
  2. Now add the oil and sauté the onions for 2 minutes in the Varoma on level 2.
  3. Then add the tomato purée and sauté for a further 2 minutes
  4. Place your Thermomix on reverse, add the sliced beef and sauté for 5 minutes at 120 degrees on stirring setting (reverse).
  5. Then add the water and all the spices for your goulash. Cook the soup for 30 minutes at 100 degrees on the reverse stirring setting.
  6. For the garnish, you can add peeled carrots and potatoes for the 30 minutes that your goulash needs to be cooked. Thermomix in the Varoma attachment for the 30 minutes it takes to cook, or you can stick with the traditionalists and serve the delicious stew with a bread roll or bread dumpling.

If you are still not satisfied with the consistency of your stew after simmering, stir a tablespoon of flour into a little water until there are no lumps. Then add this mixture to your goulash and simmer for a further 5 minutes.

The longer you cook the meat, the more tender it will be. Real goulash connoisseurs swear by the fact that the delicacy tastes even better the next day when it is reheated. So feel free to prepare a large quantity.
