Yesterday I saw the latest commercial for Duplo on TV: From probably the longest praline in the world became the probably the smartest praline in the world. Well, slogan or not, that inspired me: Tender Duplo wafers in a moist marble cake. I am thrilled. What do you think?
TM5 - For 1 mold Ø25cm or 2 molds Ø 16cm
Ingredients for the cake
- 250 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- a little lemon juice
- 3-4 eggs
- 400 g flour
- 1 sachet baking powder
- 125 ml milk + 1 tbsp milk
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 tbsp rum
- 5 Duplo
Ingredients for decorating
- 3 Duplo
- Chocolate icing
- Powdered sugar
Mix It
- Preheat oven to 180° fan oven
- Grease the bundt pan well and sprinkle with flour
- Place the butter in the mixing bowl and mix until soft → 40 sec | speed 5
- Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, eggs and lemon juice and mix → 30 sec | speed 5
- Add the flour, baking powder and 125ml Add the milk and mix → 40 sec | level 5
- Pour 2/3 of the dough into the mold and leave the rest of the dough in the mixing bowl
- Add the cocoa powder, rum and 1 TBSP. Add the milk and mix → 10 sec | level 5
- Spread the dark batter over the light batter and carefully mix in a spiral with a fork -->How it's done
- Place in the oven and bake for 60 minutes (180°).
Pimp It
Dust the cake with powdered sugar or decorate it with chocolate icing or Duplo pieces.
