Why should you make sure you eat a protein-rich meal after your workout?
Proteins are part of a complete diet. The intake of proteins repairs muscle cell damage, builds up muscles and controls enzymes and hormones. At the same time, it prevents the body from using muscle tissue as a source of energy. If you have had an intensive training session or have trained at a high intensity, it is advisable to eat a post-workout snack immediately after training. Our to-go snack after training is super easy and quick with the Thermomix to cook:
Ingredients (For 1 person):
- One salmon fillet
- 2 organic eggs
- 2-3 sweet potatoes
- 400 g spinach
Preparation:
- Pour 750g of water into the mixing bowl.
- Season the salmon with salt, pepper and lemon juice, place in the Varoma tray and top each with a sprig of dill.
- Rinse the sweet potatoes well and place the salmon and sweet potatoes in the Varoma tray.
- Steam the potatoes for 40 minutes/flavor/speed setting 1, remove the salmon after approx. 14 minutes -> depending on the thickness of the sweet potato, it may be ready earlier or may need a little longer - just check in between to see if they are already soft and adjust the time if necessary.
- Once the sweet potatoes are ready, weigh 400 g of spinach into the Varoma container, close the Varoma and cook for 12 minutes/flavor/speed setting 1.
- Squeeze out the spinach.
- Finally, pour the water into the mixing bowl, attach the cooking tray and place the two eggs in the cooking tray. The cooking time depends on how you want your eggs. 10 minutes very soft egg (yolk runny, egg white slippery); 11 minutes soft egg (yolk runny, egg white firm); 12 minutes semi-soft egg (yolk soft); 13 minutes firm egg; 14 minutes hard-boiled egg.
- Cook time according to the desired result/flavor/level 1.
- Remove the cooking tray immediately with the spatula and rinse the eggs with cold water to stop the cooking process. Serve cooked eggs warm or cold or use as desired.
The perfect post-workout dish is ready, providing the body with all the important nutrients and, above all, plenty of protein.
