Potato dumplings are a real classic - especially at Christmas time! With the Thermomix and the meat grinder attachment to the multifunctional axis WunderCentix you are sure to succeed with this side dish. Whether as an accompaniment to roasts or as a wholesome vegetarian alternative, this potato dumpling recipe for the Thermomix will impress everyone at the table. 

Ingredients for 4 portions

  • 500 g water
  • 500 g potatoes, with skin
  • 100 g flour (plus a little more for flouring)
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g soft wheat semolina
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 pinches nutmeg

And this is how it works 

Cook the potatoes:

Peel the potato - e.g. with the WunderPeeler - Place in the mixing bowl with the water, insert the cooking tray and weigh in the potatoes.

Start the food processor: 28 min./flavor/speed setting 1


     

    Prepare the potatoes:


    Remove the cooking tray using the spatula. Empty the mixing bowl, WunderCentix and press through the mincer attachment (medium perforated disk). Leave the mashed potatoes to rest in the fridge for a day.

    Prepare the dough:

    Place the pressed potatoes and remaining ingredients in the mixing bowl, fold in once with a spatula.

    Start the food processor: Dough kneading setting/1 min.
    If the dough is still too soft, add a little flour.

    Form the dumplings and cook:

    Clean the mixing bowl. Put 250 g water into the mixing bowl. Form 6 dumplings and place in the WunderPoach for Six or Muffinizer with poaching dish Place in the Varoma. Place on the Varoma.

    Start the food processor: Cook for 20 min./flavoring/speed setting 1 

    Serve the dumplings as a side dish with roast meat, for example.

     

     

    Mash the potatoes with a mincer - and then? 

    Make sure you leave the mashed potatoes to rest in the fridge for a day. This makes the dough particularly smooth and easier to work with.

    If you like to experiment, you can refine the dumplings with herbs or spices - perfect for individual variations.

    For larger portions, simply double the recipe!
