- 2 pieces of fennel (bulb)
- 1000 g minced meat mixed
- 3 tbsp oil
- 2 tins of chunky tomatoes
- 100 ml water
- salt

Clean the fennel bulb, cut off the fennel green and set aside. Halve the bulb and cut out the stalk. Cut the fennel into wedges (approx. 1 cm). Mix the mince with salt, pepper and paprika powder and shape into balls. Fry in a pan with the oil for 4-5 minutes on each side. Transfer and set aside briefly. Fry the fennel in the frying fat for 3 mins, season lightly with salt. Add the tomatoes and water, bring to the boil and season with salt and a pinch of sugar.
